Our Shared Story
From the first table in Hostages Square to Hope Tables across Israel and beyond.
This project began soon after our site launched. As the Hostages and Missing Square took shape, a deep need for connection and hope emerged. The first Hope Table was placed there – a simple, wordless invitation to gather.
Around that table people of all ages and backgrounds came together: writing, painting, photographing, embracing. In those fragile early days, the table became a place where hope was renewed.
A Living Source of Light
The Hope Table is a space for expression, release, and sharing – a mosaic of words, colors, and sounds. Tens of thousands have placed messages on its surface, many uploaded to our website, carrying healing and connection to communities, schools, organizations, and families in Israel and worldwide.
Each table is adapted to its audience and setting. Rooted in research on hope and emotional expression, it creates a continuous circle between giver and receiver: a safe, steady point that fosters resilience, unity, and compassion. Over time it has witnessed moments of grief, prayer, remembrance, reunion, and celebration.

From a small corner in the square, the Hope Table inspired collaborations with:

From the Table to the Station
The Hope Table sparked the development of the Hope Station – a complementary installation that extends the circle of giving and receiving on a national and international scale. Today, Hope Tables can be ordered and customized for many environments.
